CIS - Construction Industry Scheme Payroll Services

After the massive upheaval in 2007, technology has risen to the challenge and we can offer a full payroll service to relieve the burden of operating a CIS payroll.

What it entails

Our CIS service includes verifying all of your contractors online with HMRC, meaning you know immediately which tax rate to deduct.  We will correctly apportion your subcontractors earnings for tax, taking into account any materials, CITB levies, VAT etc. We produce weekly/monthly payslips for all subcontractors (whether taxed or gross) and then submit your CIS300 returns online every month.

The Benefits

By outsourcing the responsibility for filing your returns online, you minimise any risk of late filing penalties and the possibility of losing your own gross pay status.  Add this to the normal administrative burden of printing the payslips and verifying the contractors' statuses, APS Global can give you back valuable time to continue working on your business and not in it.

Our Director Only Payroll Service

If you are a company director who is taking advantage of the low wages and dividends route whereby you pay yourself at the Earnings Threshold and take dividends above that, APS Global has a service designed especially for you.

Details of the service

The cost is £60.00 per year, £20.00 of which is payable as a deposit. You receive an annual payslip at the end of March, online filing of your P35 and a printed P60, posted to your home address. You specify the weekly/monthly/annual amount you have been paid (usually £110 per week or £476 per month for 2009-2010) and we will process the pay and file online.

This price caters for up to 2 directors - there is an additional charge of £15.00 per director above that including a £5.00 deposit payable in advance.

Childcare Voucher Scheme

Our Childcare Voucher Scheme ensures that all employees are eligible for the scheme in advance. Did you realise that if the value of the vouchers takes an employee to below the minimum wage they cannot receive the vouchers? Did you also realise that some employees in receipt of tax credits may actually be worse off in receiving the vouchers? We can guide your employees to relevant information so they can make an informed decision about whether Childcare Vouchers will actually benefit them.

Salary Sacrifice Scheme

We also take care of the Salary Sacrifice Scheme, writing to HMRC on your behalf to confirm the details of the scheme (this cannot be done in advance), providing the relevant changes to the terms of employment, and vetting all childcare providers, ensuring they are correctly registered and approved.

We maintain a database of all providers and ensure that their registration is updated annually before paying vouchers.

How it works

The way the scheme works if you are not a payroll client of ours is we would provide you with details of how to administer the scheme through your own payroll system. You would send us a list of the employees in the scheme, and pay the value of the required vouchers.

We issue the vouchers

We then issue the vouchers to your employees (each voucher with an individual serial number) who use these to pay their childcare provider. The Childcare provider then sends the vouchers to us and we pay the provider directly.

 

Pricing

The price we charge for administering the scheme is 2.5% of the value of the vouchers plus 50p per employee for non-payroll clients and 25p per employee for existing or new payroll clients.

Recruitment agency payroll services

APS knows recruitment agencies. In fact, one of the Director's first payroll job was for a recruitment agency, processing both the weekly temp payroll and the monthly office run. Invoicing the clients for the work done and chasing the payments as well as the payroll meant a full time job, and much of the work was very repetitive. Going on holiday was a nightmare, as there was only one other person in the office that had any knowledge of payroll (which was limited to how to press the right buttons on the payroll software), which resulted in numerous queries the following week, and several pay adjustments. The payroll software was geared to recruitment agencies, but was very unreliable, having a habit of crashing on the pay run day, resulting in having to input everything again. All this coupled with a turnover of approximately 50 staff per week meant lots of P45s and P46s in a stressful environment.

Recruitment agency solution

Our recruitment agency solution can encompass the entire payroll function, or just the minimum. Our basis is the same as our basic bureau service - receiving the pay details via email, processing the pay and emailing the reports and payslips to you for printing and distribution.


Customised for your business

From here, you can really customise your service. You can add printed payslips, dealing with all the Inland Revenue correspondence (P46s, P45s, P38Ss) and all other third party requests (council tax forms, CSA, JSA, Office of National Statistics etc), holiday administration (calculating accrual, printing this on payslips, working out leavers entitlement etc, invoicing clients from the payroll data, and even a credit control department, where we will chase payment from the clients for you.

 

Comprehensive service

As you can see, we can offer a comprehensive service. For your office staff, we can also deal with P11ds, for those that have taxable benefits. We will also process subcontractor payments and if you have contractors looking for an Umbrella solution, we can even cater for this.

Payroll services for accountants

APS understands how difficult it is to keep costs down. This is why we have spent so long selecting the right payroll software to use, and then developing time-saving automation software to eliminate much of the routine work. For example, we have a secure website where new employees can be entered online. This is then directly entered into a database, which can be imported into the payroll software. Reports can be viewed and downloaded online. This lowers the cost of printing and posting them. The same can be said for payslips - these can be emailed to employees if required.

Costs

In terms of costs, our price for accountants is a 10% discount on our normal bureau fees, with the added discount of the set-up fee being for the total number of employees of all your clients, not one set-up fee for each. The 10% discount also applies to the set-up fees.

 

We work with your choice of software

We also don't limit ourselves to one particular payroll software. Some are better for certain payrolls than others, and results in less time spent in manipulating data to fit a specific payroll software. This benefit is also passed on to you, as we may be able to just take a backup and import it directly into our software.
If you do use the same software as us, and we can just take a back-up, the set-up fees are reduced by a further 50%.

Your clients are safe with us

You needn't worry about your clients either; our anti-poaching policy means that they stay your clients. We are a completely silent partner and they will never know that you are not processing their payrolls. We will even put your company logo onto reports and payslips if you wish for no extra cost.
