Minimum Wage increase for Alberta, Canada

As of the 1st Septemebr 2011, Alberta have increased the minimum wage.

The general minimum wage will rise from $8.80 to $9.40 per hour.  A new rate has been introduced for employees who serve liquor as these employees generally receive tips.  The new rate for these employees will be $9.05 per hour.  This will remain the case until the general rate increases to $10.05 per hour, and from then on, there will be a fixed $1 differential.
