The States of Jersey have made amendments to the Minimum Wage Regulations from the 1st of April 2011.

The amendments state that the limits on amounts that may be taken into account for the provision of food and living accomodation are:

  • £92.27 per week or £13.18 per day where an employer provides both food and accomodation.
  • £69.21 per week or £9.89 per day where an employer provides accomodation only.

There has also been a further amendment so that from 1st April 2011, all payments made to employees that are made up of payments made by customers (such as tips, gratuities, and cover or service charges) do not count towards the minimum wage regardless of whether they have been put through the payroll or not.
