Commerce and Employment Department is recommending that the States approve proposed Minimum Wage Rates and the date on which the Minimum Wage Law should come into effect. In the Billet D'état published for debate at the States Meeting on 26th May, Commerce and Employment is recommending that the following Minimum Wage rates should come into effect on 1st October 2010;

The new minimum wage rates in the UK from the 1st of October 2010 will be as follows:

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) announced last year that from April 2009 employers no longer had to submit form P46 (Car) for replacement company car changes and that from April 2010 forms P46 (Car) relating to replacement company car changes would no longer be accepted.

The French government recently announced a major policy initiative to help plug a gaping hole in France’s pay-as-you-go pension system. Under the proposed reform, 40 percent of the savings will come from raising the retirement age and associated rule changes. The rest will come from higher taxes.

Euro-MPs have delivered a shock decision for UK businesses by voting in favour by 390 votes to 192 to increase maternity pay to a minimum of 20 weeks at Full Pay. The vote at the European Parliament has been met by warnings from business groups.

The German Tax Office will be replacing the paper Tax Cards (Lohnsteuerkarte) from 2012.
